Drury Maps
Technical Info: Format Shift
Most GPS units have built in maps. Users of these units need to go back to the manufacturer for additional maps or updates. However, there is such a thing as a palm top computer running Windows and equipped with GPS. (This product seems to be a bit hard to find.) With the use of specialist software such as OziExplorer a scanned image of a paper map can be used as the map displayed on the screen. This image becomes the basis for GPS navigation. It is tricky to set up and this site does not offer any technical advice about how to do this. So why bother describing any of this?

It's the copyright issue. We are aware that some GPS users may want to use our maps in this way. Yes, we are happy for this to happen so long as you do the right thing. If you have purchased a hard copy of the map, you can format shift to a digital image by scanning the maps for your own personal use. If you purchase the map then you are permitted to format shift to digital image. If somebody asks you for your scanned image, make sure that they have purchased a copy of the map first.
 Welcome to Drury Maps
Drury's Street Directories publish and distribute maps of Ballarat and Bendigo. The business aims to provide up to date maps that are clear and easy to read.

The Ballarat Directory

Map drawing commenced in 1985 with the first edition of the Ballarat Directory released the following year. The map covers the Greater Ballarat Urban area as well as the rural/urban fringe. It is published in a book format to enable an exhaustive coverage of the urban area.

The Bendigo Directory

In 1987 the Bendigo Street Directory was released. This publication was first printed in broad sheet format but has since been converted to a book. This was necessary because the broad sheet was no longer an effective way to display all of the new urban areas around Bendigo. The directory provides an exhaustive coverage of Bendigo's urban area as well as coverage of the rural/urban fringe.

Purchasing

Directories of Ballarat can be purchased from Newsagents, Service Stations, Book Stores, and the RACV retail shop in the Ballarat area. Likewise the Bendigo Directory can be purchased from these outlets located in Bendigo.
